Bob's store to reopen one day after truck crashes through front door

BILLERICA, Mass. — A Bob’s store in Billerica is expected to reopen Wednesday less than a day after a truck crashed through the front door, narrowly missing holiday shoppers.

The crash was reported just before 4 p.m. at the store on Boston Road.

Police told Boston 25 News that the 68-year-old driver, who is from Woburn, crashed head-on directly into the front entryway.

“It’s scary,” Pete Capodilupo said. “Imagine just walking in the store and having a truck follow behind you.”

The driver was unable to get out of the truck right away because it was stuck in the entryway.

“For the vehicle to fit through those steel barriers, it fit perfectly through them,” Carolyn Capodilupo said. “That just amazes me.”

Billerica police said the crash doesn't appear to be medical or alcohol related, nor does it appear to be criminal or intentional.

Police are still investigating.

No injuries were reported.
