Amazon Prime 1 hour delivery launches in Boston

BOSTON — If you run out of toilet paper or forget sugar, Amazon Prime wants you to think of them first.

Amazon Prime launched one-hour delivery in Boston Wednesday, expanding upon the pre-existing two-hour delivery.

Using the Prime app or primenow.com, Prime members, which costs $99 a year, users can order grocery items, household essentials, video games, office items, sports and outdoor gear, toys for kids and babies and pet items.

To place an order, you have to buy at least $20 worth of items. But for those who forget their headphones and need a new water bottle, there will be no need to stop by CVS or Walgreens before work, they can simply add the items to their cart and choose a delivery option.

One hour delivery is $7.99 and two-hour delivery is free. Amazon's Alexa can also order items through Prime Now.

Prime Now is available from 8 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week to the entire city of Boston. FOX25 has reached out to Amazon to ask what exactly the boundary map is and will update this story.
