HYDE PARK, Mass. — A 7-year-old boy was given CPR at a Hyde Park pool this afternoon, according to Mass. State Police.
The child was breathing when taken from Olsen Swimming Pool and brought to a nearby hospital. The pool is located on Turtle Pond Parkway in Hyde Park.

FOX25's Jacqui Heinrich has been at the scene all day and spoke with a Nikia Dean, a Personal Care Assistant who helped rescue the boy.
"He didn't have a pulse for like two to three minutes. I just think about my son, that could have been my son,” Dean said.

Two lifeguards were on break but heard the whistle and helped another lifeguard with the rescue.

DCR said all lifeguards are trained to rescue swimmers in ways that prevent injuries.
"We commend our lifeguards on duty at DCR's Olsen Pool in Hyde Park for their quick actions today. As part of a team, they worked together calmly and efficiently to manage a crisis situation that resulted in the saving of a young child," DCR spokesman Troy Wall said.
