Police search home in Manchester 2 days after announcing a 2019 disappearance

MANCHESTER, N.H. — The search for clues in the disappearance of Harmony Montgomery continues. Sunday she would be seven but she was last seen at age five.

Manchester Police surrounded a home on Gilford Street in Manchester for several hours Sunday with trucks and tarps.

We spoke off-camera with the woman who lives at the home. She says she just moved there and never met or had anything to do with Harmony or her family. She and her neighbors told us they have no idea what if anything was found. They also say they don’t know much about the family, but we did speak to residents at an old address registered to Harmony’s father. The anonymous resident used to be neighbors with Harmony’s dad and came to his defense.

“Shocking and sad especially when you know the person involved,” she said. “It’s just crazy. I know everybody wants to point to him like he hurt her or something but he’s not capable of doing that he is such a good guy. I saw him here with his other kids. He used to talk to us about his daughter a few times. You could tell he was really sincere about it. He told us that the mother came to the grandmother’s house they lived at and took her and never brought her back.”

Harmony is estimated to be approximately 4 feet tall and 50 pounds. Investigators said she has blonde hair, blue eyes and should be wearing glasses.

Police have not commented yet on what they were doing at the Gilford street address or what if anything they found.

On Friday Manchester police chief said they just learned about Harmony’s disappearance.

“We’ve got a two-year window that we’re trying to shrink as quick as humanly possible as fast as we can,” said Manchester, NH police chief Allen D. Aldenberg.

The chief wouldn’t say where her parents are, or where Harmony lived but did tell us harmony was last seen in October 2019 when police were called to a home in Manchester.

He says she may have attended school in Massachusetts, but didn’t know where. Investigators have been interviewing family members.
