2 of 4 victims from Allenstown, NH murders laid to rest Saturday

ALLENSTOWN, N.H. — Victims of a serial killer whose bodies were found in barrels in New Hampshire can now rest in peace.

For decades, the victims were only known as part of the "Allenstown Four." Over the summer, investigators identified three of them.

Marlyse Honeychurch and her daughters, Marie Vaughn and Sarah McWaters, were buried in barrels in Allenstown's Bear Brook State Park, along with another young girl. Investigators now know that fourth victim is the daughter of the accused killer.

On Saturday, Marlyse and Marie were interred together at a graveside service.

"We have looked and searched for over 30 years with no luck," said Honeychurch's brother at Saturday's service. "We have never stopped looking. Our gratitude goes out to each and everyone involved and everything everyone has done for us to find them."

The funeral home says Marlyse's other daughter is being buried closer to her relative's home.

Marlyse and her daughters vanished thanksgiving 1978 from California with Marlyse's new boyfriend, Terry Rassmusen, the man authorities say killed them.
