SOMERVILLE, Mass. — At least two people are injured after a tractor-trailer crashed into a Somerville nail salon Friday around noon.
Witnesses say a technician was taken to the hospital for neck injuries and the owner was also taken away in an ambulance.
The crash happened on Highland Avenue at Beauty on the Ave.
The truck driver was traveling down Porter Street when he lost traction and crashed through a snow bank and into the brick building.
“I don’t really know how it happened, but [the owner’s] daughter came down about a half an hour ago, I sat her down, gave her a cup of coffee. She seemed really intense, worried about her mother,” Felicia Delelio, the owner of a neighboring restaurant, said.
By evening, plywood covered the hole in the building where the truck crashed through.
Police have yet to give the drivers any citations for the crash, and witnesses on the scene say he was cooperating with police.
