WORCESTER, Mass. - A 16-year-old girl was hit by a car crossing the street in Worcester Wednesday night and police say they're looking for the driver.
Police say the black sedan heading east on Burncoat Street didn't stop after hitting the girl shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday. The girl was rushed to the hospital with broken bones and serious injuries, but police say she is expected to survive.
The crash reconstruction unit was brought in to investigate the scene.
Police did not immediately have a further description of the car. But said the hit and run happened near Melrose Street.
