13-year-old girl struck by car in crosswalk

WEYMOUTH, Mass. — A 13-year-old girl was struck by a car on Commercial Street Friday morning.

According to police, the girl was struck around 7:30 a.m. in a crosswalk near Maria Weston Chapman School. She was taken to South Shore Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver involved, a 23-year-old woman from Hingham, was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
