LYNNFIELD, Mass. — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened in a Lynnfield mansion during a house party.

The shooting happened about 3:30 a.m. Sunday on Needham Road, according to police. Thirty-three-year-old Kevian Heath of Randolph was shot.  The Essex County District Attorney's Office said he was taken to Lynn Union Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The owner of the mansion, Alex Styller, said he was renting it out to people from the South Boston area in their mid to late 30s for the weekend. Early Sunday morning he received a call from his realtor telling him about the the shooting.

The party was supposed to be a college reunion, with about 100 people, said Styller.

"It's supposed to be about 20 people -- turns out it was a much bigger party," he said.

A source told FOX25's Jim Morelli the party was broken up around 3 a.m. because of the noise.

The owner of the mansion said he thought some uninvited people showed up to the party, and said the renters didn't personally know Heath.

The house is on the market for about $3.4 million. It rents out for $1,400 a night. The owner said he screens potential renters very carefully.

Hours after the shooting, the renter and friends were back at the house cleaning up, but would not speak to FOX25.

Massachusetts State Police detectives and Lynnfield Police are investigating.

Officials haven't released any suspect information.
