SEABROOK, N.H. — Actress Pamela Gidley, well known for her role as Teresa Banks in the “Twin Peaks” prequel film “Fire Walk With Me,” died earlier this month. She was 52.
The Associated Press reported that Gidley's death was announced in an online obituary. It said she died peacefully at her Seabrook, New Hampshire, home on April 16. It did not include a cause of death.
Gidley, who was born in Methuen, Mass. on June 11, 1965, grew up in Salem, N.H. and attended St. Joseph's Elementary School and Presentation of Mary Academy in Methuen.
Gidley was a model and actress who had her first dance recital at age three, her obituary said.
At the age of four, Gidley won "New England's Little Miss Lovely" and came in 12th in their national competition in Florida.
At 15, she was modeling for magazine covers such as 'Seventeen Magazine" and, in 1985, Gidley won the Wilhemina Modeling Agency's 'Most Beautiful Girl in the World" contest in Sydney, Australia.
Gidley studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting.
As an actress, she had parts in the cult classic sci-fi movie "Cherry 2000," and TV shows "MacGyver," "The Pretender," "CSI" and "The Closer," in addition to "Twin Peaks: "Fire Walk With Me."
According to Gidley's obituary, besides her mother, Phyllis M. Gidley of Hampton, she is survived by her brothers Glenn Gidley of Salem, N.H., Daniel Gidley of Hampton and Brian Gidley of Haverhill, as well as nephews and nieces.
Per the family's request, Gidley's funeral service will be private.
Instead of flowers, the family has asked for donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the New Hampshire SPCA.
