High School GameDay Game of the Week: Mashpee takes down Abington

The High School GameDay Game of the Week featured two undefeated teams as the Mashpee Falcons head out to Abington to take on the Green Wave.

Both teams were 3-0 heading into the South Shore League annual battle, with Mashpee hoping to match the success of their last three seasons, where they took home Division 7 Super Bowl titles.

Meanwhile, Abington looked to play spoiler on the Falcons' undefeated season, looking to get revenge on a team that's had to go through them during each of their last three Division 7 Super Bowl campaigns.

Before those championship wins, Abington had been to four Super Bowls, winning all four with the last title coming in 2014.

In the end, Mashpee pulled out the win 21-20 over Abington.

Scoring Updates: 

9:38 p.m.: Mashpee takes the win on the road in a close one with a 21-20 victory.

9:10 p.m.: Devaun Ford adds to his stat line with another touchdown, with an extra point from Xavier Gonsalves making it 21-20 Mashpee.

9:01 p.m.: Following a long return from Will Klein, Gabe Spry hauls in a five-yard touchdown, with a two-point conversion making it 20-14 Abington.

8:49 p.m.: After Devaun Ford rips off a huge 56-yard run up the sideline for Mashpee, he takes a 3rd-and-13 run to the goal line before taking it in on the next play for a touchdown. On his attempt for a two-point conversion, he's taken down by Abington's Sean Landers to keep it at 14-12 Mashpee.

8:41 p.m.: Connor Leary takes matters into his own hands for the Green Wave, running one in from 61 yards out to give the home squad a 12-8 lead.

8:02 p.m.: Mashpee heads into the half with an 8-6 lead over Abington on the road.

7:43 p.m.: Abington answers right back, with Will Klein spinning around the defense on a 28-yard touchdown run, with a failed two-point conversion cutting the lead to 8-6 Falcons.

7:31 p.m.: Mashpee gets on the board early in the second quarter on a touchdown pass from Ian Miller to Devaun Ford, with a two-point conversion making it 8-0 Falcons.

7:27 p.m.: In a rarity for High School GameDay Games of the Week, we're scoreless after one quarter of action out in Abington.
