Worcester hiker carried off Mount Washington after injuring leg

A Worcester woman was carried off Mount Washington after injuring her left leg and not being able to continue down the trail.

New Hampshire Fish and Game said a call was put in around 8:20 p.m. on Saturday night for an injured hiker on the Jewell Trail after 38-year-old Worcester native Natasha Rodriguez injured her left leg.

Rodriguez was found on the trail, a half mile below the junction with the Appalachian Trail.

She was rescued around 11:20 p.m., and rescue crews carried her down the trail after enough personnel arrived around 11:50 p.m.

Rodriguez and the crew hit the trail head at 1:35 a.m., and Rodriguez was evaluated by the Twin Mountain Fire Department.

She was not taken to the hospital, and instead chose to leave the trail with a friend.
