Woman's body discovered inside Rochester, NH storage unit

Rochester Police and the New Hampshire Attorney General's office announced an investigation into a woman's suspicious death.

Police say they got a call around midnight Saturday about an open storage unit at Rochester Self Storage on South Main Street.

Officers responding to the situation found the body of 45-year-old Jessica Purslow inside the unit.

An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday to determine the cause and manner of her death.

A close childhood friend tells Boston 25 News Purslow told her she was going through a tough time when they last spoke two weeks ago.

Stephany Murphy is trying to piece together what could have led to her friend's final moments.

"What was she doing in a storage unit at 12 o'clock at night?" said Murphy. "It's not like Jessie. You can't tell me nobody knows anything, somebody knows something."

Murphy recalls Purslow telling her she was going through a tough time but was determined to get back on her feet.

"We were raised together, she was in the same group home as me, we were roommates - Jessica goes way back with me," said Murphy. "Whatever was going on her life I was going to be there."

The incident is under investigation, and anyone who was in the area of Rochester Self Storage over the weekend is asked to contact Rochester Police Detective Pat Emerson at 603-330-7128
