Weymouth man arrested for his father’s murder in home they shared

WEYMOUTH, Mass. — A Weymouth man has been arrested and charged with the murder of his father.

Police were alerted to the home 61-year-old William D. Walling, Sr. shared with his son, William D. Walling, Jr. by family members who went to check on them.

Officers responded around 7:00 p.m. on Saturday evening and found William D. Walling, Jr. in front of the home. His father was found inside and he was pronounced dead by the responding paramedics from South Shore Hospital.

The cause and manner of death are being investigated by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

According to a press release from the Norfolk District Attorney’s office, police arrested William Walling, Jr. for murder based on their observations at the scene and information they developed.

He is expected to be arraigned by a justice of the Quincy District Court on Monday.
