BOURNE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The victims of the shooting involving active duty members of the United States Coast Guard in Bourne have been identified, according to authorities.
Lisa Trubnikova, a petty officer in the Coast Guard stationed at Joint Base Cape Cod, was killed after being struck by gunfire from Adrian Thomas Loya, of Virginia. Anna Trubnikova, also a petty officer with the Coast Guard and stationed at Woods Hole, Mass., was also struck by gunfire and wounded. She is currently hospitalized.
Bourne Police Officer Jared MacDonald was also shot during the incident Thursday and remains in the hospital as well.
Cape & Islands District Attorney Michael O'Keefe said the case remains under investigation by the Bourne Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Detectives. The Coast Guard is assisting in the investigation.
Authorities allege Loya, who is also a member of the Coast Guard, shot the two women early Thursday, lit a car on fire to hamper police, planted fake bombs and then opened fire on officers.
Loya pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges Thursday.
