The Uber driver who says an off-duty Boston Police Officer assaulted him took the stand on Wednesday.
Uber driver Luis Blanco took the stand on day two of the trial of Boston Police Officer Michael Doherty.
Doherty is charged with assault and battery and using a motor vehicle without authority after police say Doherty beat Blanco up and took his car after an altercation in Southie in January 2015.

"He started just throwing punches and he's grabbing my ear and my face and trying to grab the front of my face behind me, hooking me," said Blanco.
Blanco told the court that the 16-year veteran of the force gave him a bad address and then got angry when it wasn't Doherty's home.

"He began to say, 'You think I'm an idiot? Imma kill you. You (expletive) you think I'm a (expletive) idiot?'" said Blanco.
Blanco said he got away from Doherty and flagged down another Uber driver in the area - only to have Doherty allegedly take his car and sped off.
"I hear the car pull behind me and I looked over and I can see that he took my car," said Blanco.
Blanco followed with the other driver and the three got into a fight, but Doherty allegedly left the scene before police arrived.
Blanco says he was able to catch up to his car and Doherty. When he got possession of his car the #Uber driver who had helped got into altercation with Doherty. Doherty called that man a racial slur @boston25

Blanco asked the second #uber driver to “please stay with me” so he had a witness to the incident. “I knew it would be my word against him.” @boston25

Doherty is also charged with civil rights violations for using racial slurs in the altercation.
Doherty was identified through credit card information associated with his Uber account and had turned himself in to police.
Doherty disputes the charges.
