The Flowery Branch Police Department said in a news release that officers were called to a home just after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a shooting. Officers arrived to find a woman in the street who had been shot multiple times.

Investigators quickly identified Fonda Spratt as the suspected shooter and arrested her, WSB-TV reported.

Detectives told WSB-TV that Spratt walked into the victim’s home, and confronted her about barking dogs in the home before pulling out a gun and firing it.

“This is incredibly unfortunate and could have ended in catastrophic results,” Flowery Branch Police Chief Christopher Hulsey said in a statement. “There could have been more innocent individuals injured or killed. I am proud of the quick response time and sound decision making of our officers and thankful that this incident was not worse.”

Spratt was charged with aggravated assault, burglary, reckless conduct and possession of a firearm, WSB-TV reported.
