According to KTVT and the Dallas Morning News, Kewon Dontrell White is facing a murder charge after investigators said he shot and killed the 28-year-old rapper, born Melvin Noble, last month along Interstate 35. White, 21, also faces a charge of illegally possessing a firearm as a felon and remains in federal custody, Dallas police said in a news release Wednesday.

“His bond for the murder charge will be set at a later date by the magistrate,” the release added.

Investigators believe that the two men, who were in separate vehicles, stopped on the freeway near the Dallas Zoo on Nov. 11, according to KTVT. Noble exited his vehicle and began to flee from White, who chased the rapper and opened fire, authorities said. After shooting Noble, authorities said White returned to his vehicle and fled, the news outlet reported.

Police have not released a motive in the case, KTVT reported.
