FORT BRAGG, N.C. (MyFoxBoston.com) - A soldier's Halloween costume reportedly caused a security scare at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.
According to WTVD in Raleigh, a soldier dressed as a suicide bomber tried to enter an access point Friday evening, officials said. The incident sparked an emergency response, and the gate was closed "for an extended period of time," WTVD reports.
"Although the incident remains under investigation, initial reports indicate it was a Halloween costume," officials said in a Facebook post, which circulated on social media before it apparently was deleted.
"The Fort Bragg Garrison Commander wants the community to have a safe and fun Halloween; however, costumes of this sort are not allowed on Fort Bragg," the statement continued, according to WTVD. "All costumes should be appropriate in dress and tasteful."
