21-year-old seriously hurt after rollover crash involving tractor-trailer

WILMINGTON, Mass. — Just before 1:45 a.m., three cars and a tractor-trailer were involved in a domino effect crash on Route 93 north in Wilmington.

State Police said a 21-year-old man from Woburn hit a car, careened off to the right side of the road, drove back on the road and rolled over. The 46-year-old Westford man who was hit then struck the guardrail off to the left side of the road.

A 57-year-old man from Manchester, New Hampshire, driving a tractor-trailer then struck the 21-year-old in his car, causing serious, life-threatening injuries to the young man. He was taken to Lahey Hospital in Burlington.

A 25-year-old woman from Tewksbury then struck debris from the crash but wasn't injured.

The 46-year-old man and 57-year old man also weren't injured.

Traffic was rerouted off 93 north at exit 37C until just after 6:45 a.m.
