S. Hadley man dies after being struck by plow

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (AP) - Authorities say a South Hadley man who died during last weekend's snow storm was struck by a private snow plow as he stood in the driveway of his home.

Roland Chartier died after he was struck by the plow he had hired to clear his driveway at about 6 p.m. Saturday.

First Assistant Northwestern District Attorney Steven Gagne said in a statement Wednesday that although the 77-year-old Chartier's death remains under investigation, no foul play is suspected.

State police say it will take investigators one to two weeks to complete a report on the incident.

Chartier served in the U.S. Marine Corps, grew up in Chicopee and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and camping.
