Road rage case heads to trial more than two years after incident in Sharon

SHARON, Mass. — Over two years after a road rage incident in Sharon, the alleged victim is looking for closure as the case heads to trial.

While Michel Nassif was driving on Bay Road in Sharon back in June of 2016, another driver was allegedly honking at him for going too slow, so Nassif allegedly pulled over to let him pass.

Instead, Nassif says the driver, Alex Nguyen, got out of his car to confront him. Nassif said he thought Nguyen had a weapon during the altercation, so he tried to stay away.

"I could see it, but I wasn't sure how it looked like, gun or knife," Nassif said.

Nassif and his two young children in the car then left the area to avoid confrontation but said he and Nguyen then met again a few miles down the street near Madison Avenue.

In that instance, both Nassif and Nguyen got out of the car.

"'Leave us alone,' and my hands like this, 'Leave us alone, have a nice day,'" Nassif said when describing the altercation. "I turned to my right to check on the kids to see if they're still in the car, and by the time I turned to look at him, all of a sudden, I felt something sharp, metal hit me."

Nassif said he was punched at least 20 times in the face and back of the head after an incident in June of 2016, where he was driving down Bay Road in Sharon.

The victim said he was knocked unconscious, and worried about his children still in the car as he laid bleeding on the ground.

"All I see, honest to God, I see my kids, like from above," Nassif said. "Both of them, next to each other, looking at me with a sad face."

Nguyen took off from the scene and was arrested and charged with assault and battery a few days later, while witnesses helped Nassif get an ambulance to go to the hospital.

Now, two years later, Nassif is hoping the driver finally pays for what he did to him and his family.

"All that I want, justice," Nassif said. "That's all I want."
