Prosecutor: Man threatened young girl, stabbed mother

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Authorities say a Massachusetts man held a knife to a young girl's face before repeatedly stabbing her mother.

Teodosio Rodriguez-Ortiz was arraigned on assault charges Wednesday at Framingham District Court. A prosecutor said the mother was in grave condition at UMass-Memorial Medical Center.

The MetroWest Daily News reports that Framingham police were called to a possible stabbing at an apartment Tuesday and found the victim, who is Rodriguez-Ortiz's girlfriend, bleeding profusely from her abdomen.

Prosecutors say the 24-year-old Rodriguez-Ortiz attacked his girlfriend during an argument, then threatened her young daughter. Authorities say he then chased the woman into a hallway, pinned her to the ground and stabbed her.

Rodriguez-Ortiz's attorney says his client denies the allegations. He was ordered detained pending a dangerousness hearing Monday.
