PEABODY, Mass. — Police say juveniles are now facing charges after filming themselves throwing a heavy chair from a second-floor balcony of a mall.
Peabody Police say the juveniles filmed themselves committing the dangerous crime before it was posted on social media.
The video, sent to Boston 25 News on Twitter Tuesday, shows a group of teens filming themselves as they hurl a piece of mall furniture over the balcony at the North Shore Mall.
The heavy chair hits the floor below. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
Peabody police say since the video hit social media, the teens have been identified and charges are pending.
Meanwhile, the incident is reminiscent of this video in Toronto earlier this month, when a 19-year-old woman threw two chairs off a 45th-story balcony and onto a busy street below.
Similarly, in this case, the public identified her and she turned herself in to police to face charges of mischief endangering life among others.
Of the Peabody teen suspects, police say: "They were crucified in the court of public opinion, and will fare no better at juvenile court, but the court of Mom and Dad is what we bet they fear the most.”
Peabody Police went on to thank the many "Good folks" who helped solve the crime and identify the juveniles involved.
