BURLINGTON, Mass. (AP) - State Police are investigating a crash near the Burlington Mall that left a woman dead and a man seriously injured.
The accident occurred about 5 p.m. on Saturday near Cambridge Street and Mall Road. Witnesses told police the car hit a stone wall and rolled over. Debris was scattered throughout the intersection.
The woman, who was believed to be a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighters cut open the vehicle to remove the man, who was taken to Lahey Clinic in serious condition.
Police did not immediately release the names of the occupants of the car. Police closed lanes of traffic Saturday evening to reconstruct the crash scene. The Middlesex District Attorney's office is leading the investigation into the crash.
