Police identify 15-year-old killed in Roxbury shooting Thursday night

ROXBURY, Mass. — Boston Police on Saturday released the name of the 15-year-old boy who was shot and killed Thursday night in Roxbury.

Xhavier Rico, 15, of Dorchester, was found shot Thursday night in the area of 39 Mount Pleasant Avenue in Roxbury. Police found him around 10 p.m. while responding to a 911 call reporting fireworks or shots fired.

Rico was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died.

A short time later, two adult men showed up at local area hospitals with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The teen’s death was one of three homicides in the city this past week.

Boston Police are actively investigating the shooting. They’re asking anyone with information regarding the shooting and the investigation to contact Boston Police Homicide Detectives at (617) 343-4470.
