BARRINGTON, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire police have charged a Barrington man with two counts of negligent homicide in the deaths of a Maine couple Saturday.
Police say 48-year-old John Shaw of Barrington was arraigned Wednesday in Dover District Court and is being held on a $25,000 cash bond.
State police say Shaw's truck crossed the center line on Route 202 in Barrington late Saturday night and plowed into a car driven by 77-year-old Joel McLain of Biddeford, Maine. Authorities say McLain died at the scene. His 77-year-old wife, Maxine, died later at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Shaw was ejected from his vehicle and taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
