Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson added to 'Ted 2' cast

(MyFoxBoston.com) -- The set of "Ted 2" is about to get a little more star power: Morgan Freeman and Liam Neeson have been added to the cast.

"Yesterday, Liam Neeson, today, Morgan Freeman. Not a bad week for #Ted2," the movie's writer and director Seth MacFarlane tweeted on Wednesday.

Mark Wahlberg, who starred in the first Ted, was seen in Boston and around Massachusetts in August with his trusty, furry companion Ted. Amanda Seyfried has been cast as the sequel's female lead, replacing Mila Kunis, who played Wahlberg's love interest in the first movie.

No word yet on the what roles Freeman and Neeson will play in "Ted 2."

Sam Jones, the actor who played "Flash Gordon" in the 1980s television show, appeared in the original "Ted" as himself. He's reprising that role for the sequel and stopped by the FOX 25 studio earlier in September to talk with Gene Levanchy about filming.
