Red Cross delivers Thanksgiving meals to Boston Public Schools families

BOSTON — Thanksgiving came early this year after several major local nonprofits, including the American Red Cross of Massachusetts, partnered to bring more than a thousand Thanksgiving meals to families in Boston.

On Saturday the Red Cross partnered with YMCA Boston, the Community Hub Schools program and a network of Boston Public Schools teacher and administrator volunteer drivers delivered turkeys, fresh harvest produce and dry items like canned yams, turkey gravy and stuffing to the homes of 1,100 BPS student families.

Those Boston Public Schools families also received school supplies and books that were provided by Cradles to Crayons.
