REVERE, Mass. — Employees of the now-shuttered Necco factory in Revere are getting some help from the city and potential employers.
A reemployment and job resource event will be held at Revere City Hall, 281 Broadway, from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday, Aug 20.
The city of Revere will also host a job fair open for the public at Rumney Marsh Academy, 140 American Legion Highway, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug 22.
According to Mayor Brian Arrigo's office, many employers have already said they have jobs available and want to recruit the displaced employees.

More than 200 workers received their pink slips last week after the company that had been making candy in New England since 1847 announced it was closing its doors. Those workers picked up their final paycheck last Friday. Many of the workers had been there for decades.
Revere’s mayor said everyone was caught off guard by the decision to close down.
Several employers are expected to attend the event and other opportunities for new skills and development will be offered, according to a news release. Translators will also be available.
