Mass. Most Wanted suspect faces judge after a year on the run

LOWELL, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A 35-year-old man, who had been on the run for more than a year, appeared before a judge Monday to face an aggravated assault and battery charge stemming from a February 2012 bar fight.

On Sept. 13, police in Pepperell were investigating the death of a baby at a Mill Street home when they found Raymond Robarge hiding inside the residence.

The Middlesex District Attorney is not investigating the child's death as suspicious, but it remains unclear what Robarge's connection is to the child.

According to the Middlesex County Assistant District Attorney, Robarge used brass knuckles during the bar fight, caused significant injuries to the victim's face, and knocked him temporarily unconscious.

Outside the courtroom, friends and family said Robarge was an "awesome guy," "a good guy," and a "good father."

Robarge was able to make the $2,500 cash bail, but was ordered held on other charges, including an assault and battery with a dangerous weapon charge.

Robarge has a lengthy criminal record, including several firearms charges, drug charges, and an assault with intent to murder charge. He is due back in court sometime in October.
