FALL RIVER, Mass. - Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Edward Markey, and Representative Joseph Kennedy III wrote a letter to Jeff Bezos with questions about the facility.
A new report revealed the rate of serious injuries at the Fall River fulfillment facility is nearly three times higher than the industry average.
The politicians are requesting information about how the company is ensuring worker safety.
Approximately 4,000 Massachusetts residents are employed by Amazon with nearly a quarter of them working at the Fall River facility.
The letter to Amazon's CEO also cites Amazon's plans to open distribution centers in other Mass. towns including Holyoke, North Andover, and Quincy.
The lawmakers have requested a response to their questions no later than January 6, 2020.
