Man with serious knife wounds walks into Boston Medical Center early Friday

BOSTON — A man walked into Boston Medical Center early Friday morning with serious stab wounds, police say.

The man remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after simply showing up at the emergency room around 6:35 a.m. Friday.

Police told Boston 25 News the man may have been stabbed near the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard, in an area known as the Methadone Mile, but it isn’t clear why.

The search for the stabbing site was difficult with pouring rain likely erasing any blood trail.

Police have launched an investigation.
