STOUGHTON, Mass. — Police are investigating a late-night shooting on Pleasant Street that sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries.
Stoughton police said in a statement that they were called to a report of a shooting at 420 Pleasant St. just after 10 Sunday night. A man with “very serious injuries” from gunshot wounds was found on the back stairs of the home and rushed to Boston Medical Center, Stoughton Police Chief Donna McNamara said.
Lt. John Bonney said the 29-year-old victim sustained life-threatening injuries from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Officials have not yet been released a possible motive for the shooting but McNamara said police do not believe the shooting was random. No arrests or suspects have been announced.
Part of Pleasant Street (Route 139) was closed early Monday as officials continue to investigate the crime scene.
State Police are assisting Stoughton police with the investigation.
