STURBRIDGE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly driving drunk and cursing at Wendy's employees.
Officers were called to the Wendy's on Charlton Road just before 12:45 a.m. for a possible drunk driver in the drive-thru lane. Employees told police that 23-year-old Zachary Berry was swearing, belligerent, and smelled of alcohol.
Attentive employees told the driver there was a problem with his order, and they would have it for him if he would wait a few minutes. Instead of his food, he got a visit from police, who arrived moments later.
"They did a field sobriety test, and subsequently a male subject was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol," said Sturbridge Police Sgt. Kevin Mercier.
The arrest can be seen from a dashboard camera, pointed right at the Berry's maroon Honda Accord. It was a stop made possible by employees who didn't want the 23-year-old back on the road.
"It certainly allowed us to catch up with the vehicle," Mercier said. "It allowed them to be in one spot, and not back on the freeways and the highways."
After arresting Berry, police took him back to their station, where they say his blood alcohol level was 0.13.
Berry was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. He is scheduled for arraignment in Dudley District Court on Monday.
