WORCESTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Two Lowell residents are facing numerous drug charges after a state trooper pulled them over for speeding and discovered bags of drugs believed to be cocaine and heroin inside the car.
Mass. State Police stopped a Dodge sedan for speeding on Interstate 290 at about 2:55 a.m. Tuesday.
During the course of the stop, three bags of narcotics believed to be cocaine and heroin were found, as well as a sum of money believed to be proceeds from the sale of narcotics.
After a brief altercation, both the driver, 31-year-old Jessie Supernault, and his passenger, 33-year-old Laveneur Jackson, were placed under arrest.
Supernault was charged with trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in heroin/morphine/opium, conspiracy to violate drug law, and speeding.
Jackson was charged with trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in heroin/morphine/opium, conspiracy to violate drug law, possession of a Class B substance (subsequence offense), disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.
Both men were scheduled to be arraigned in Worcester District Court Tuesday morning.
