NEEDHAM, Mass. — A worker was airlifted to a hospital Friday morning after a fall at a Needham construction site.
It happened at the new public safety headquarters being built at the corner of Chestnut and School streets.
The fire chief says they got the call at 8:38 Friday morning. The worker was reportedly standing on a steel beam when he fell 15-20 feet into a pit. It’s unclear what caused him to fall.
He was rescued and taken into an ambulance before being flown to the hospital.
The fire chief didn’t have an update on the worker’s condition but says he was conscious when transported and had cuts on his face and back pain.
We have reached out to the contractor for comment.
