BOSTON — A Boston landmark is celebrating a major milestone.
Union Oyster House, located along the Freedom Trail, recently marked its 200th anniversary, making it the oldest continuously operating restaurant in the United States.
The National Historic Landmark first opened in 1826 and has welcomed generations of diners over the past two centuries, including presidents, royalty, celebrities, and local families.
Known for its historic charm and classic New England seafood, the restaurant has become one of Boston’s most recognizable destinations.
Owners say the 200-year anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate not only the restaurant’s legacy, but also Boston’s rich history and traditions.
Union Oyster House remains one of the city’s most popular dining destinations as it begins its third century in business.
