Two people dead, highway closed following serious multi-car crash in Marlborough

Two people are dead after a crash that forced a major Massachusetts roadway to be shut down for hours on Monday afternoon.

Massachusetts State Police troopers responded to a multi-car crash on I-290 East in Marlborough late Monday afternoon.

A state police spokesperson tells Boston 25 that two people in the crash died from their injuries.

The roadway was completely shut down at Exit 30 near Solomon Pond Road so first responders could access the scene before reopening around 9:00 p.m.

The identities of the victims in the crash have not been released at this time.
