Early Saturday morning. the MBTA announced that the Green Line speed restrictions would remain in place at least through the end of service Saturday.

In a tweet on social media, the MBTA said that they have identified portions of the track which may include multiple defects that need to be investigated or mitigated.

“As each defect is validated and corrected as needed, that track portion will be able to have the speed restriction lifted. Speed restrictions are in place for the safety of employees and customers, the MBTA added.

On Saturday, The MBTA identified 30-speed limit signs that need to be relocated on the Green Line. The relocation work was supposed to be completed Saturday.
