‘Real classy. Good job, Boston’: Warriors call out Celtics fans over obscene chants

BOSTON — The Golden State Warriors expressed disgust with what they heard come out of the mouths of some Boston Celtics fans after they were defeated in Game 3 of the NBA Finals at TD Garden on Wednesday.

Fans directed profane chants at Warriors big man Draymond Green throughout the game, which ended with the Celtics securing a 116-100 win.

That none-safe-for-work chant involved a four-letter word, prompting Warriors sharpshooter Klay Thompson to call out the Garden crowd in his postgame press conference.

“We’ve played in front of rude people before. Dropping f-bombs with children in the crowd. Real classy. Good job, Boston,” Thompson told reporters.

When asked about the Green chants, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said, “Classy. Very classy.”

Warriors star Steph Curry, who emerged from a pile for a loose ball limping, said the behavior of Celtics fans was “par for the course.”

Green added that he “embraces” and “enjoys” Celtics fans casting him as a villain.

The Celtics now lead the best-of-seven series 2-1. Game 4 will be played in Boston on Friday night.
