Hanson siblings selling homemade pins to raise money for children in need

HANSON, Mass. — An adorable brother and sister from Hanson are hard at work raising money for children in need this holiday season.

With the help of their nana, Landon and Caroline Doyle have been making homemade pins with inspirational messages.

They’re selling the pins for a dollar each and donating all the money they collect to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“We’re very lucky to be healthy,” both the siblings said.

“I saw a commercial and I thought since the COVID thing has happened, it would be the perfect time to do it,” said 10-year-old Landon.

They spend one to two hours a day making the pins.

“Our nana has a button maker and we just cut out papers after my nana prints them on her printer,” 7-year-old Caroline explained. “We cut out little papers, put all four pieces in and press down on the handle and we get pins.”

The siblings have drummed up so much support, they’ve doubled their original goal of selling 1,000 pins.

“Our second goal was 1,500. We’re almost at 1,500. Now we’re going for 2,000,” Landon said.

Landon and Caroline plan to keep making pins until the end of the month. Anyone who’d like to buy one can email their mom at kristiedoyle79@yahoo.com. Their mom kindly asks people to be patient since they’ve been inundated with orders.
