Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in Walpole

WALPOLE, Mass. — A female victim has died after being hit by a car on East Street in Walpole just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, local police announced. That victim, who has not yet been identified by police, was on foot when she was hit.

Officials transported the victim to a local hospital after they arrived on scene. There, she died from her injuries. Police are waiting to release her name pending notification of her family.

The crash, which remains under investigation, prompted East Street to be closed for two hours in both directions.

The Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office assisted local police in investigating the scene.
