The Patriots have moved two players that were already on Injured Reserve to the Reserve/ Suspended list, making it likely they will not be paid for the team’s regular season finale.
According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the Patriots have moved cornerback Jack Jones and punter Jake Bailey to the reserve/suspended list Friday, signaling that the pairs’ absence in recent weeks is not just due to injuries.

This indicates that their reserve status is not just about injuries in the view of the team. Specifics of what that could be still to be learned.
Jones was put on injured reserve on December 31 after injuring his knee in a Week 14 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
According to a statement from Jones’ agent, J. Tooson, the rookie cornerback was suspended by New England due to a “miscommunication regarding Jack’s rehab process.”

Jones, a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, has emerged as one of the Patriots’ bright young stars in their defensive backfield. Jones has tallied two interceptions and 25 solo tackles in 13 games this year.
Jones, drafted out of Arizona State, began his college career at USC before he was dismissed from the team due to academic issues in 2017. The next year, Jones was arrested and charged with breaking into a Panda Express at 3 a.m.
Bailey, in his fourth year in New England, was placed on injured reserve with a back injury on November 19.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
