Patriots plane returns healthcare workers after Super Bowl experience

The Patriots team plane returned from Super Bowl LV early Monday morning. But this year instead of carrying the team it had 76 healthcare workers from New England.

As a way of saying thank you for everything they’ve done, Robert Kraft paid for 76 healthcare workers to travel to sunny Tampa and enjoy the full Super Bowl experience.

The healthcare workers have all been vaccinated and joined the crowed of about 25,000 fans at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday night. On top of taking part in several game day festivities, they got to see Tom Brady make history again by winning his seventh Super Bowl.

One healthcare worker tells Boston 25 News she was honored to be part of the experience.

“It’s been an amazing experience, something like I’d never dreamed it would be like, it was incredible,” said Kim Nichols, of Wentworth Douglass Hospital. “I like Tom Brady and Gronkowski even though they play down there. I wasn’t sure if he had it in him to do it again, but they nailed it. It was great.”

Another health care worker was very appreciative to be chosen to go down to Tampa.

“The whole experience was awesome with the plane ride and the game, the concert, it was awesome,” said Emma Kneisel of Danbury Hospital. “I love football and sporting events. I can’t necessarily say I’m a Tom Brady fan, but after yesterday, possibly.”
