NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — One person is dead and two others are injured after a shooting at a bar in New Bedford.
According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, around 1:21 a.m. on Saturday, New Bedford Police responded to the Morna Lounge and Grill, located at 1621 Acushnet Avenue, for reports of shots fired inside the business.
Upon arrival, officers found three people with gunshot wounds. Two female victims were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford and underwent treatment for their injuries.
The male victim, 27-year-old Cristiano Macedo of New Bedford was also transported to St. Luke’s Hospital but was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.
The investigation is extremely active and no further information is available.
Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, New Bedford Police, and Homicide Unit prosecutors are investigating the homicide.
