New England Patriots return to Gillette for home opener against Baltimore Ravens

FOXBORO, Mass. — It’s been almost nine months since the Patriots played a regular season game at home, and fans are excited to head back to Gillette Stadium.

The Patriots take on the Baltimore Ravens in their week 3 match-up airing on Boston 25 Sunday afternoon.

Baltimore opened the season with a win over the New York Jets but lost to the Miami Dolphins in week two. New England is hoping to continue their momentum following last week’s win over the Pittsburgh Steelers after starting the season with a loss to Miami.

With a 1 p.m. kickoff for the home opener, tailgaters got an early start when parking lots opened at 9 a.m. and gates to the stadium opened at 11 a.m.

People attending the game should brush up on the stadium’s bag policy and should remember the venue is now cashless. There are some “cash-to-card” ATMs around the stadium.

The cheapest tickets as of Sunday morning were selling for about $100. All tickets are mobile-only, and people are encouraged to download the Gillette Stadium app to access them or download them to their Apple Wallet or Google Pay before arriving at the stadium.

The first home game of the season will include a special ceremony at halftime honoring the newest Patriots Hall of Fame inductee Vince Wilfork.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
