Mass. — Many parents stress over where they will raise and have their child, and according to a new report, some states are better than others.
Massachusetts topped the list as the best state to have a baby receiving high marks for healthcare, family friendliness, and parental-leave policy.
To determine the most ideal places in the U.S. for parents and their newborns, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 31 key measures of cost, healthcare accessibility, and baby-friendliness.
Massachusetts received a score of 69.31 and ranked first in family-friendliness, second in healthcare, and 4th in baby-friendlessness.
Four other New England states also ranked in the top 10 of the best states to have a baby. Vermont ranked third with a score of 65.74. Rhode Island ranked fourth with a score of 65.64, New Hampshire ranked sixth with a score of 64.15 and Connecticut ranked ninth with a score of 60.67.

- Minnesota
- Vermont
- Rhode Island
- North Dakota
- New Hampshire
- Iowa
- Utah
- Connecticut
- Washington
