Marblehead Police looking to identify man who approached and chased boy

MARBLEHEAD, Mass. — Police in Marblehead said they are looking to identify a man who approached a young boy and chased him.

The boy’s father called police at approximately 4:50 p.m. and reported that another man had approached his 11-year-old son in the area of Stramski Park near Gerrity Playground. The boy had been with his friends in the park.

Boton 25 spoke to Amy Carnevale, the mother of that boy who was chased. She said the boys were playing hide and seek.

“He was hiding and the man came down the street in a black truck approached my son,” she said. “My son walked away and then he started following him at a quick pace and then ran after my son. He left the area when my son met his friends but then came back again.”

The man did not do anything when he returned and then he left. The boy says he drive a black pick up and was wearing a grey hoodie.

Carnevale just wants to know why the man did that. And so do police. He is not wanted by police but they are looking to identify him.

Anyone with information about the incident or who may have been in the area of Stramski Park around the time of the incident is asked to call Marblehead Police at 781-631-1212.
