MANCHESTER, NH — The New Hampshire State Police are investigating after a man drowned at a Manchester River on Friday night.
The incident occurred around 7:14 PM, when State Police Marine Units were alerted to a possible drowning in the Piscataquog River.
Once there, an investigation determined that the victim, 23-year-old Pacific Sibomana of Manchester, was walking along the Piscataquog River Trail when he entered the river to swim alone. Shortly afterwards, the friend saw Sibomana struggling and called authorities.
The friend and members of the Manchester Fire Department pulled Sibomana out of the water and onto the shore to begin life-saving measures.
Sibomana was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased Saturday morning.
At this time, Sibomana’s death is not believed to be suspicious, and authorities are investigating the incident.
